ABOUT ME

el·e·gance

Refined grace or dignified propriety.

e·volve

Develop gradually, especially from a simple to a complex form. Much like a butterfly.

As a young black woman in today’s world, I’m not sure if most would describe me as elegant. To have ‘dignified propriety’ is to conform and be conventional. I am anything but conventional.

But I am always evolving into newer forms of myself and setting my own example of what it means to be elegant. To walk with my head held high in a system that aspires to keep our eyes to the ground. To discern which battle to fight when you really wanna cuss someone out. To move toward the things that fulfill you when the monotony of life leaves you feeling empty. THAT is what elegance is. It’s getting back up when life starts lifeing.

This blog, is a documentation of my evolution through the various moments in life that contribute to my essence. It is where I can process the world around me and maybe find a lesson or two to share and empower. Enjoy the journey.
